The Jung Archetypes Gift Box:
A Celebration of Symbols & Self-Discovery
“Archetypes are images in the soul that represent the course of one’s life.”
~ Carl Jung
There are moments in life when something stirs deep inside you—a whisper that feels ancient, timeless, and profoundly connected to the human experience. For me, that whisper first spoke when I was a child, entranced by the mysteries of the esoteric world. Tarot cards, astrology, myths—they all felt like keys to unlocking a part of myself I didn’t yet understand. These symbols were more than just simple images, they were stories, pathways to something greater.
It wasn’t until years later, when I discovered Carl Jung, that I began to grasp the power of these symbols. Jung’s work showed me that myths and archetypes are more than fascinating stories—they’re the collective threads that brings humanity together. His archetypes spoke to me like old friends. They represented universal patterns that shape not only our individual psyches but also the myths that have guided civilizations for centuries.
As I reflect on my life and my journey, I see the role that each of my archetypes has played—the Hero who drove me to overcome challenges, the Shadow that forced me to confront my fears, the Creator who inspired me to build something meaningful. Each archetype has guided me through different phases of life, shaping my path in ways I couldn’t always see at the time.
What I’ve come to understand is that the real journey is not about staying with one archetype or another—it’s about finding our true archetype, the one that aligns with who we truly are. It’s a process of integrating these parts of ourselves, weaving them together into a narrative that feels whole, honest, and uniquely ours. That, I believe, is the essence of individuation—the journey Jung so beautifully illuminated for us all.
Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist born in 1875, was a pioneer of the human psyche. While his contemporaries often focused on the tangible and conscious aspects of the mind, Jung went deeper. He saw the unconscious not as a vault for repressed memories but as a wellspring of ancient wisdom—a space shared by all humanity, rich with universal symbols and archetypes.
Jung’s groundbreaking work in psychology was deeply influenced by his love of mythology, spirituality, and the arts. His fascination with the patterns that shape human behavior led him to develop the concept of archetypes—universal figures and motifs, like the Hero, the Shadow, and the Wise Old Man, that transcend time and culture. For Jung, these archetypes live within us, surfacing in our dreams, myths, and daily decisions.
This exploration of the unconscious came to life in his most personal work, The Red Book. Written during a period of intense self-reflection, this visually stunning manuscript is filled with Jung’s symbolic visions, dream imagery, and intricate illustrations. The Red Book was Jung’s way of confronting and integrating his own unconscious, a process he called individuation—the journey toward becoming a whole, authentic self.
When creating the Jung Archetypes Gift Box, I wanted to ground it in an archetype that embodies transformation, strength, and authenticity. The choice was clear - the King of Wands, or Re di Bastoni. This archetype is a symbol of fire, passion, and leadership—the creative visionary who turns ideas into reality.
The King of Wands isn’t about dominance or power for its own sake. He represents integrity, courage, and the ability to inspire others through quiet strength. He leads by example, driven by authenticity and a deep connection to his purpose. This archetype is a call to tap into your inner fire, to pursue your passions with conviction, and to shape your world with creativity and intention.
This is the spirit of the Re di Bastoni wine. Produced by Clio Cicogni in Tuscany, the wine is a biodynamic masterpiece—a Sangiovese aged in terracotta amphorae for five lunar cycles. The process is as authentic as the wine itself: handpicked grapes, indigenous yeasts, and a philosophy that lets the grape express its true nature. It’s wine that tells a story, just like the King of Wands.
Jung believed that symbols were more than decorative or intellectual—they were alive, evolving, and multi-layered. They appeared in dreams and myths as guides, bridging the gap between the conscious and unconscious mind. Unlike signs, which convey fixed meanings, symbols reveal themselves gradually, opening pathways to greater understanding. Jung thought that engaging with these symbols was a spiritual pursuit, offering meaning, connection, and a way to navigate life’s complexities.
His theories continue to resonate today, reminding us that our lives are shaped by universal stories that bind humanity together. Through The Red Book and his study of archetypes, Jung left us a map for exploring our inner worlds—a legacy that continues to inspire seekers, storytellers, and creators alike.
This spirit of exploration is at the heart of the Jung Archetypes Gift Box. Each element, from the symbolic wine to the evocative tarot deck, invites you to connect with the archetypes that shape your life and uncover the timeless myths that guide us all.

The inspiration for this gift box first sparked during a visit to Tuscany. Staying with a friend, I noticed an empty bottle on her counter with a striking label depicting the Re di Bastoni (King of Wands). There was something magnetic about it—the fire, the strength, the untold story contained within the bottle. Driven by curiosity, I reached out to the winemaker, Clio Cicogni, whose story was as genuine as the wine she crafts.
"We’re a small, biodynamic winery in the province of Arezzo," she shared. "Everything we do—from handpicking the grapes to fermenting with indigenous yeasts—is about letting the grape express itself." Clio and her husband, Antonio, produce only 7,000 bottles a year, each crafted with intention and respect for the land.
What made this wine even more unique was Clio’s collaboration with tarot artist Valentina Naldini. "Each of our amphora-aged wines is paired with a tarot card from Valentina’s deck," Clio explained. "The Re di Bastoni was a natural fit for our Sangiovese—it’s the king of grapes in Tuscany, after all. The card represents authenticity, transformation, and the strength that comes from knowing one’s true self."
The King of Wands label is part of a collaboration between Clio and tarot artist Valentina Naldini. Valentina’s deck, Tarocchi Disturbanti, is a deeply personal journey of transformation. Each card is a reflection of her own struggles and triumphs, crafted with raw emotion and intricate symbolism.
"Creating this deck was my healing journey," Valentina told me. "It was a way to process pain, to transform it into something meaningful. The tarot, like Jung’s archetypes, is a mirror. It shows us what we already carry within ourselves."
The suit of Wands, associated with the element of fire, perfectly aligns with the wine’s journey in terracotta amphorae. The fire that transforms clay into terracotta mirrors the wine’s evolution—its authenticity and depth revealed through careful craftsmanship. This partnership between Clio and Valentina is a celebration of transformation and the stories that connect us.
We chose Il Papessa (The High Priestess) as the first card for the gift box because it holds profound significance for Valentina. In her deck, Il Papessa is not merely a figure of wisdom and intuition - she embodies the journey of self-discovery and inner transformation that Valentina herself undertook while creating Tarocchi Disturbanti. This card represents a guardian of hidden knowledge, a symbol of introspection and the deep, unspoken truths that lie within us all. For Valentina, Il Papessa is a reminder of the resilience required to confront and heal one’s inner world. Just as the High Priestess guides seekers to trust their inner wisdom, this card invites each recipient of the gift box to embark on their own journey of reflection and self-awareness, honoring the mysteries that connect us to ourselves and to each other.
The Jung Archetypes Gift Box is the culmination of these stories—a tribute to Jung’s teachings, the authenticity of biodynamic winemaking, and the power of tarot to guide us inward. Each element of the box is designed to evoke reflection, connection, and a sense of wonder.
We chose to launch this box on the full moon in Taurus, November 2024, a moment that feels deeply aligned with its themes. Taurus, ruled by Venus, is a sign of beauty, sensuality, and grounding. It invites us to savor the tangible and connect with the earth—qualities mirrored in the wine, the glass, and the tactile experience of the tarot.
The full moon, a symbol of culmination and illumination, encourages us to reflect on our journeys and embrace transformation. Under its steady light, this gift box becomes a ritual, a moment to pause and reconnect with yourself.
The Jung Archetypes Gift Box is an experience that encompasses the depth of self-discovery, the richness of symbolic storytelling, and the transformative power of wine and tarot. It invites you to connect with the archetypes within and embrace a timeless journey toward truth. For me personally, this box symbolizes a sense of accomplishment—not just in bringing this project to life, but in honoring the years I’ve spent navigating my own archetypes.
